That Healthy Blonde’s Protein Waffles

A few years back my husband and I starting substituting Oat Flour for regular flour in a lot of recipes and we found we could barely tell the difference.

I made Chocolate chip cookies with it and they were amazing!

I personally feel better when I have less wheat in my diet, so using this as a substitute was golden for me.

What the heck is OAT FLOUR?

For those of you who don’t already know it’s nothing fancy… it’s literally OATMEAL ground up into a flour like consistency. The best part is you can make it in your blender in under 60 seconds!

Ok, so here is today’s challenge:

Grab some Oatmeal.

Throw it in the blender.

Make my delicious PROTEIN WAFFLES!!!!!

TIP: Double the recipe to make extra for the week! These refrigerate well and stay fresh for 5-7 days in a sealed container.

* This recipe be made into Pancakes too.

Ingredients:

2 Cups of Oat Flour

1 Cup of Unsweetened Vanilla Almond milk

2 Scoops of Tone It Up Vanilla Protein

2 Eggs

1 TBSP Baking Powder

1/2 tsp Vanilla

1/4 tsp Salt

Directions:

Combine ingredients, stir well.

Add mixture to the waffle iron until fully cooked.

1/2 cup of the batter is one serving.

* If the batter is too thick add more Almond milk

I love to top mine with 1 cup of warm Mixed Berries or 1/8 cup of Pure Maple syrup.

ENJOY!

xx, Naomi
